OUR REAL ESTATE FOR SALE IN SAN VINCENZO
Wide beaches of fine, pale sand run down to a cobalt sea. Dense, shady pinewoods border the beach and are criss-crossed with trails for walking, hiking and horse riding. San Vincenzo combines natural beauty with the amenities of a welcoming, hospitable resort, making it an international tourist destination where relaxing holidays can be enjoyed all year round. San Vincenzo has been inhabited since very ancient times – later it became an Etruscan and then a Roman settlement. Today, it is a modern, efficient town offering a wide variety of holiday accommodation and sports facilities, in addition to a well-equipped harbour for pleasure craft. It is internationally renowned for its restaurants, which offer dishes based on local products and for the excellent wines of this area. The Rimigliano Nature Reserve with its varied and protected environment, the nearby medieval villages, the Etruscan remains at Baratti and Campiglia and the mineral spa at Venturina make San Vincenzo the ideal base for excursions along the Etruscan Coast.
The sea at San Vincenzo is crystal-clear and bordered by dense pinewoods and thick Mediterranean scrub. The splendid beach, with its fine, gold sand, stretches for many kilometres, alternating fully-equipped bathing establishments with public beaches. Beach umbrellas and sun-beds can be hired at the nearest “Punto Azzurro”.
Dotted along the coast are number of lookouts and old fortifications, including the 14th century San Vincenzo’s Tower, which gave its name to the town and was once used to defend the coast against attacks by pirates.
The limpid air and light sea breezes make aquatic sports even more enjoyable. Once a busy port of call for trade, the spacious, well-equipped harbour of San Vincenzo now has moorings for hundreds of leisure craft.
The Rimigliano Nature Reserve, with its intact, protected enviroment, is an inviting oasis of flora and fauna situated right next to the sea – an ideal place for peaceful walks. The park was established on a 120 hectare plot in 1973 and is one of the most enchanting places along the coast. Sea lilies flower on the sands between San Vincenzo and Baratti, while the sand dunes are covered with juniper, myrtle and mastic holm-oaks, cork trees and dense pinewoods border the beach of gold sand. There is free access to the beach where a variety of amenities are offered at the nearest “Punto Azzurro”. Wild rabbits, weasels, foxes, pheasants and tits are among the fauna to be found in the Park.
